"Dia-Prog"

There were also PC based programming and CAD/CAM stations, where the machines could be networked and where parts could be designed, programmed and tool paths simulated. The Dia-Prog station shown below is said to have been based on a DEC computer, but was so expensive that only very very few units were sold. For example only a single unit is said to have been sold in Holland, which otherwise was a very strong market for Deckel. It also seems that almost nothing has survived and unfortunately nothing is more fleeting then old computers. Any hints, infos or leads would be appreciated.

Again it appears that there was Dia-Prog 1 and a Dia-Prog 2.

Dia-Prog 1:

By the time the 06/86 Deckel brochure "Der Technologie-Verbund. Zentrale Programm-Versorgung im Werzueg- und Formenbau."  came out, the above type stand alone programming stations, must already have been fairly obsolete. The 86 brochure already shows a table top computer based system with monochrom monitor (1024x780), 4MB RAM, 31MB HD, 51/4" disks (400KB), printer, plotter, punch tape reader/writer. It appears that this set-up was provided by DESCAM, at least thats what is printed on the shown keyboard.

If you know anything more, please contact us. Maybe a system is dusting away under some desk somewhere, and mildew is attacking the documentation?
